From the People Who Left Watches Here
Lim Beng Huat
Georgetown, Penang
Brought in my father's Seiko that had been sitting in a drawer for about twelve years. Rajan looked it over at the counter and was straightforward about what he thought it needed — a full strip and clean, new lubricant, and a check of the dial condition. The process took about five weeks and I received photos at a couple of stages, which I did not expect. Collected it running well within the tolerance they quoted. The written report was a nice touch to keep with the watch.

I had a metal bracelet that needed resizing and a thorough clean — the clasp had become stiff and the links were quite dull. They sized it correctly and the cleaning made a noticeable difference to the finish. The only reason I did not give five stars is that the turnaround was a day longer than the initial estimate, though I was contacted to let me know in advance, which I appreciated.

Quartz battery replacement and a quick tidy. Simple job, done quickly, no fuss. The condition note they include is something I had not seen other places bother with — it mentioned the crown gasket showed some wear and might need attention in the next year or two. Useful to know rather than finding out when water gets in.

Tanjung Bungah, Penang
My grandmother's watch — a small mechanical piece from the 1970s — was brought in for a full service. I was uncertain whether it was even worth attempting given its age, but the conversation at the counter was patient and informative. They gave me a clear picture of what was feasible and what the risks were before I agreed to anything. It came back running and with a report I will keep alongside it.

Leather strap re-stitching and conditioning. The strap was getting soft at one end near the buckle and I was not sure it could be repaired rather than replaced. They had a look and said it was worth trying. It came back holding well and the leather has a noticeably better condition than when I left it. No pressure to buy a replacement, which I half expected.

Balik Pulau, Penang
I drove over from Balik Pulau for this — worth the trip. Three watches brought in across two visits, including one that needed a full service. The communication was consistent throughout and the receipt system gave me confidence the pieces were properly accounted for. I have recommended this shop to two colleagues already.

Case Study · Heritage Service
A 1968 Mechanical Watch Returned to Service
Challenge
The watch had not been serviced since the 1990s. The movement was running but losing around 8 minutes per day, the crown had become difficult to engage, and there was visible residue around the movement jewels visible through the case back.
What Was Done
Full movement strip-down, ultrasonic cleaning of components, replacement of worn mainspring section, re-oiling to manufacturer specifications, regulation, and case work to restore the crown threading. The owner was consulted before and after each stage.
Outcome
Movement running within +4 seconds per day on completion, confirmed by timing machine. Crown engagement restored. Work took 6 weeks from intake to collection. Owner received twelve progress photographs and a four-page service report.
"The process felt like it was on our terms, not theirs. They waited until I was comfortable before each step, and the result speaks for itself."

Case Study · Bracelet Refurbishment
Stainless Bracelet Restored After Heavy Daily Wear
Challenge
A stainless steel sports watch bracelet had accumulated deep scratches across the centre links, stretch visible at several connections, and heavy discolouration in the clasp fold area from daily use over four years.
What Was Done
Deep ultrasonic clean of the bracelet, light polishing of centre links respecting the original brush-and-polish finish, careful link tightening at three points showing wear, and cleaning and re-lubricating the clasp mechanism. The client was shown the bracelet mid-process and confirmed the polishing direction before work continued.
Outcome
Bracelet returned in noticeably improved condition. No stretch visible. Clasp operating cleanly. Work completed in 5 working days. Client noted the finish matched the original closely — a common concern with polishing work.
"I was expecting the original finish to be gone. Instead it looks like it did after the first year of wear — much better than I hoped."
